Our Name

Well… there is always hope in a harmony.

For transparency, this organization grew out of an event we created called Voices of Hope. When it came time to expand, that name was no longer available, so we had to find something new. Staying close to the original idea was important, because hope is at the heart of everything we do.

Hope means having something to look forward to. It means that even when things are difficult, there is still a path toward something better. Mental illness and disabilities are often lifelong experiences, but they do not define a person’s worth or limit what their life can become. We believe in empowering individuals to recognize their value, break down barriers, and discover that they are more than what they’ve been told.

For those less familiar with music, harmony is when two or more parts come together, each singing or playing different notes, yet creating something cohesive and beautiful. The notes don’t match exactly, but they complement one another.

Some of the most powerful harmonies are the ones that shouldn’t work on paper. Dissonant harmonies can look like they’ll clash, yet when you hear them, they give you goosebumps. Layered harmonies can seem complex or even confusing, but together they create something richer than any single part alone.

That is what we aim to do.

We bring people together who might not otherwise cross paths. We open doors for those who didn’t know those doors existed. We create space for different communities to come together with a shared purpose.

We believe in harmony, not just in music, but in people.

And when we say there is always hope in a harmony, this is what we mean.

Our Logo

About Our Logo

In the short time since becoming public, our logo has already gone through a few evolutions. What you see now is a design created by our founder, Avery Neff, built around three core elements that reflect who we are and what we stand for.

The Music Note
At the centre of everything we do is music. It is our foundation and our starting point. From concerts and showcases to future programming like musical theatre programs, music is the thread that connects our work and brings people together.

The Circle of Three
Surrounding that foundation is a circle made up of three parts. These represent the three pillars of our mission: inclusivity, accessibility, and empowerment. Individually, each one matters, but together, they create something stronger: community.

Because at its core, community is what holds everything together. It’s people supporting one another, creating space for each other, and choosing to accept and uplift others as they are.

The Rainbow
The final element is the rainbow, representing the idea that identity exists on a spectrum, whether that be disability, sexuality, or gender.

We don’t need to fully understand someone’s experience to support them. What matters is that we choose to show up with acceptance and care.

Every day, we encounter people who exist somewhere on that spectrum, including ourselves. The colours we see in a rainbow are only a small portion of what actually exists; there are entire ranges, like infrared and ultraviolet, that the human eye can’t perceive. People are no different. There is so much more to each person than what we can immediately see or understand.
