ABOUT THE TEAM

Meet Avery

Executive Director/Chair

Welcome! My name is Avery Neff, founder of Hope in a Harmony.

I believe in action over advocacy, so I partnered with a good friend and in 2025 we put on Voices of Hope, which was a fundraising concert for Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health and raised almost $5000 for the cause. The drive in me has not stopped, and over time my mind has been flooded with ideas of other ways to help the community and I followed the voice that said we can do more. I am a songwriter, musician, and performer (all hobbyist, not career), and I wanted to take my love of music and performing and do something good with it.

I have a formal diagnosis of Autism, ADHD, and many mental illnesses. I also have two children on the autism spectrum, and one of my children has regular seizures which can sometimes make it difficult for her to perform as much as she’d like. Because of this, I have been able to see the gaps in resources and supports in the region. My special interest is music, more specifically musical theatre, and I know I am not the only one.

I am very blessed with a fantastic support system so I can perform on a traditional stage, though that hasn’t always been the case, and I know it isn’t the case for a lot of people. It is very important to me to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to live out their dreams in any way possible, especially those who fall in the middle. Not “disabled enough” for additional supports, yet unable to function in today’s society on their own. I am one of those people and I want people like me to feel they have a safe space.

In my very little free time, I am doing my own performing with Pop Nation Canada, or I am at work where I manage an optometry office, or playing with my cats.
